Wanted: AN AMBITIOUS COMMUNICATIONS AND PUBLIC RELATIONS LEADER WHO WILL

Help Us Grow So We Can Improve More Lives

PN is looking for an experienced, driven communications and public relations leader who’s passionate about health, fitness and helping people live their best life.

Precision Nutrition is growing, and we need an experienced and resourceful leader who can strengthen our fitness and health brand relevance and expand our media coverage to help drive our company’s brand awareness and growth to reach more people to change more lives than ever before. As one of the largest nutrition coaching, education, and software companies in the world, Precision Nutrition is bigger than it’s ever been — and it’s about to get bigger.

To help us scale and share our brand purpose, we need a leader who has a deep understanding of lifestyle and business communications, and can drive company thought leadership strategies that will strongly position Precision Nutrition to help millions more people live healthier, happier lives.

Join our Adventure

We’re embarking on a new adventure, and we need an experienced leader to craft our communications and public relations strategy

We’ve got an exciting journey ahead of us… Our purpose is to provide research-based, life-changing personal nutrition and lifestyle coaching for everyone. We do that by providing fitness and health professionals with the coaching, education, and the tools they need to help clients achieve deep health.

Over the next 10 years, Precision Nutrition will be expanding its world-class coaching services into a wide range of new products and markets.  To keep us moving forward, we need a communications leader who knows how to craft a breakthrough communications and public relations strategy to help us meet our growth goals and establish us as a world leader in fitness and health.

Who we’re looking for

An innovative leader who breaks down barriers

You’re passionate about improving people’s health. At the end of the day, our goal is to help people become healthier. Like us, you’re as passionate about telling stories as you are inspiring people to live their best lives.

You can spot opportunity from a mile away.  You can quickly identify what’s trending in the news and determine how Precision Nutrition can meaningfully contribute to the conversation and help deliver on our brand purpose – whether it’s a topic that will motivate and educate our employees, our coaches or the business community.

You’re results-driven and have a strong bias for action. You get energized by developing communications and public relations plans that drive customer growth and brand equity. You excel at understanding and optimizing the communications mix that excites and drives action. You crave startup agility and are able to achieve results through ambiguity. You know how to prioritize, adapt quickly when the scope changes—because it often will— and thrive in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.

You’re a confident decision maker. Since you’ll be collaborating with people across the organization, you’ll be taking in a lot of competing input and synthesizing that into a specific course of action. You aren’t afraid to take on the authority and accountability needed to make a decision and drive the plan forward in the way you think will have the biggest effect. You don’t water down the plan to please everyone and risk results.

You’re a motivating, team-oriented, people person.  Let’s face it: to get other people to execute on your projects, you must be able to easily build relationships and credibility.  You earn and give respect so that you can work with others to generate top-notch communications results. Oh, and since you get to do all of this remotely, from the comfort of your home, and you won’t be going into an office every day to meet in person—so your people and leadership skills are truly first class.

You know how to communicate and coordinate. You know how to say it, write it and present it in both layman’s terms and a bit more formally if needed. You know how to be heard and energize people around you no matter who you are interacting with.

You know how to zoom in and zoom out. You can navigate the big picture while rolling up your sleeves and getting your hands dirty. You can develop an overall communications strategy, but don’t lose sight of all the small details required to execute it flawlessly.

What you’ll be doing

Deeply understanding today’s communications mix

You’ll develop communication plans to drive awareness for both our company as well as support sales for our nutrition coaching solutions. That means:

  • Developing the overarching communications strategy. You’ll develop the communications objectives desired by all audiences we want to reach in the nutrition, health and fitness realms as well as the business community, and present the appropriate strategies/messages needed to make an impact with them.

  • Managing our PR agency partner.  You’ll ensure we have the right agency team and plans in place, plans are executed within the timeframes needed, and stay within budget while achieving our goals.

  • Proactively and reactively respond to media. Even though we’ll partner with an agency, you’ll still build direct relationships with journalists. You’ll need to truly understand the needs of our top-tier media contacts, so you never miss an opportunity to insert Precision Nutrition into the news.

  • Developing and guiding an ambassador program. You’ll serve as a conduit between our coaches, clients and the agency to help shape an ambassador program that both delivers on our brand promise and inspires them to share and promote PN and our solutions.

  • Creating distinctive media and ambassador event experiences. You’ll lead the creation of unique events that inspire media and ambassadors to share and promote an authentic point of view of our company.

  • Developing and managing our speaking opportunity program. You’ll establish our strategy and priorities for speaking opportunities, so we can maximize exposure through our experts and position PN strongly with our audiences.

  • Develop product review and case study programs. You’ll partner with the product team to develop product review and case study programs that generates new communication opportunities for our nutrition coaching solutions.

Ensuring our plans succeed

Finally, you’ll monitor the coordination and execution of those initiatives, ensuring they go off without a hitch by:

  • Overseeing the execution of the communications plan. You’ll ensure that you and the PR agency have the resources you all need; review, approve and guide all agency plans; and hold the agency and yourself accountable to ensure timelines and budgets are met as the plan turns into action.

  • Communicating your strategy. You’ll be responsible for sharing your goals, priorities, timelines, and resource requirements to the necessary departments.

  • Developing success measures. You’ll use the company’s goals to develop measurable communication goals and meet with leadership to agree if those goals are being met.

A few important caveats

This is a dream job, if you’re the right person for it.

Must-Have #1: You must be experienced.

You have 10+ years in communications, with agency and/or cross-functional company team leadership experience (though having both agency and client-side experience is a plus). You’ve successfully developed communication and PR plans, events, and ambassador programs that achieved or exceeded goals for a client, company, or product team and are prepared to share how you achieved them.

Must-Have #2: You must know our market.

You aren’t new to health, nutrition, and fitness, and ideally you have some experience in the education business.

Must-Have #3: You must think on your feet

While you’ll always find support at PN, we’re a lean team. You must demonstrate analytical and conceptual problem-solving abilities and prove that you can say it or write it quickly and with confidence.

Wondering if this is the right path for you?

Every year, professionals at the top of their field choose to join Precision Nutrition.

Here are 5 reasons why.

Reason #1: We give you the freedom to “do you.”

Unlike most companies, we don’t have rigid rules about how and when to do things. You’ll always be free to work independently, whenever, wherever, and however you want.

Reason #2: You can work from anywhere.

We’re a 100% remote company, and have been working remote for 17 years. When you join our team, you’re no longer shackled to one desk, one office, one city, or even one country!

Reason #3: Meetings are optional. (No, really.)

You’re an adult. You’re capable of deciding how your time should be spent. If you don’t think you need to attend a meeting, you don’t. Simple as that.

Reason #4: You’ll always feel supported.

In a regular office, it’s easy to feel like a hamster in a wheel, powerless to change things. At Precision Nutrition, we work as a team to overcome issues & barriers that stand in each other’s way, and we treat each other with enthusiasm, compassion, and care.

Reason #5: You’ll never be bored.

People often come to Precision Nutrition after hitting a plateau in their old jobs. At PN, you’ll get the chance to conquer new challenges, learn from the best, and reach thrilling new heights of personal and professional growth.

Plus: no commute ... and no 9-to-5 grind.

Go ahead: schedule work around your kids. Fly to Europe on a moment’s notice. We don’t care where you’re based or what hours you keep, as long as you always give us your best when it counts.
